I am just not cut out for the four seasons. At least this is how I feel most of the time as soon as the sun becomes more sparing with its shine, the temperature drops and the days get shorter, darker and more sombre.
Especially after having spent 3.5 years in Africa, the sun seems necessary for me to be fully content, energized and upbeat. Yet I know, I have to find the beauty in the small things of autumn and winter too. And every day I try — sometimes the effort becomes nearly effortless, like when you are doing yoga practice and moving through the asanas smoothly, naturally.
This is also why I’m grateful for the sight right outside my window. All hail the colours of the ivy, and the freedom of its leaves dancing in the wind.
