Pause. You deserve it

Pause. You deserve it

For a while I have been feeling that I carry out many of my daily activities out of a “must”. And this has left me feeling jaded, frustrated and at times anxious.
There have been multiple items on my to-do list for weeks on end and it seems that the list never gets shorter!
It’s like I have been trapped in a rat race, with workshops having to brainstorm for, appointments to book, classes to plan, website to redesign, and so on.
And you know what? It is okay.
I have come to realize that sometimes I have to put my peace of mind first and let the to-do list wait. That I can stop and breathe, and get in a 30-minute morning meditation before I sit down to work on “urgent’ announcements and yoga-related tasks.
This is an invitation for you to also pause. Try it out! Maybe leave one task until tomorrow and sit down to observe your mind and give yourself some well-deserved rest.
Sit with your decision to push aside another work-related email, another call, leave the laundry for the weekend and simply sit. Breathe.
Or move through a gentle yoga practice or get a Thai yoga massage if that feels good. It is okay to make time for yourself, what is more, it is absolutely essential!
Because how could you pour from an empty cup?
If looking after yourself by doing a home yoga practice feels daunting, join us for a fusion yoga workshop next Friday, 21 December. We will combine a dynamic practice with yin yoga’s passive stretches, and meditation, to look back onto 2018. There are a few more spots left. Check out the details here.
