We had it all: Pictures of our yoga retreat

What are the things you wish for a yoga retreat in the Hungarian countryside? Clean and green space, sunshine, refreshing breeze, and an inspiring crowd. How lucky that we had all this, and more: harmony.

This happiness consisted of nothing else but the harmony of the few things around me with my own existence, a feeling of contentment and well-being that needed no changes and no intensification. — Herman Hesse

Not only did the sun shine mostly throughout our weekend but we found ourselves amidst the most gorgeous hills in north-east Hungary, at a Taoist retreat place about an hour away from Budapest. Friday evening, after the first sharing circle, we had a gentle yoga class to bid the day farewell and start clearing space out and prepare to make room for the new.

Starting Saturday and Sunday morning in silence, we enjoyed seated and walking meditations, learned about kriyas and about our strength and power, and shared meals — not only among ourselves but with a group of 30 choir children, who sounded like angels when they were singing. We might have had a different impression when they were playing but surely they were teaching us about the hard work you have to put in to remain focused, listen to the silence within and stay on your path.

Can’t wait for the next one. AUM Namah Shivaya.
